As from the 28th September 2020, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, new government restrictions will only allow weddings of up to 15 people to take place. This is a huge blow for couples who had already postponed their wedding several times, or had decided to still go ahead with the previous limited number of 30 guests. They are now facing the dilemma of still going ahead with 15 guests, or holding on until the restrictions ease again, which could be upto 6 months.
For some people, love just can’t be postponed any longer, and they just want to get married. If you had originally planned a big party for your wedding with the idea of a packed dance floor, singing at the top of your lungs and jumping all over each other, scaling down to 15 or 30 guests would’ve been a huge compromise! Some couples who are still hoping that those things will be able to happen again in the future, are having to postpone their weddings into 2021 and beyond. But the future is very uncertain for all the entertainment industry at the moment, and nobody can predict how things will look in the coming months or years. This unfortunate situation has then made couples question the whole wedding and come to the conclusion of “we just want to get married!”.
Many couples are now deciding that although the restrictions mean they won’t be able to have the wedding they wanted, they are just happy to be able to still get married, with a few of their close family and friends around them. Some couples are also planning a small intimate wedding this year, and then a bigger party next year when restrictions will hopefully be eased. I recently performed at a wedding of 30 guests (which was originally mean to be over 100 guests!) and they have already booked me for their 2021 wedding party.
If you’re planning to hold a micro wedding, there are still different types wedding entertainment you can include in your day to make it more personal and memorable. Don’t forget, wedding suppliers including musicians, photographers, catering staff are NOT included in the number of total guests. So you could still have a photographer, videographer and musician if you wish.
I am currently offering my acoustic wedding singer services for micro weddings taking place in a Covid secure venue, either to current couples who are scaling down their wedding, or to new couples who are looking for someone to create a relaxed atmosphere for their day. Here are some of the services I can provide for your Micro Wedding:
